Perfect Location
My wife and I stayed at Alaska Reprieve the first week of Feb. We are fairly new to VRBO's and learned that descriptions and pictures can be misleading...but not here. Everything was as described or better. Their place was clean, modern, in a great location and had everything we needed. We were closely located to the beach (close enough to go back to get drinks) and just a short walk to all that Placencia village has to offer. We were also a short bike ride to Splash dive shop. The bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, floaties and appliances were of excellent quality Our hosts were there at the time of our holiday and anything we needed they were quick to accommodate. They even made sure our ice bucket was full for our blended drinks! Our only regret was that we booked a different place for the second week and it was disappointing after our experience at Alaska Reprieve! We would highly recommend staying here...we will on our next visit.

This was a fantastic property with all the right amenities. Clean and quiet within walking distance to anything you could want or need (grocery store/bank/beach/beach club/restaurants). Mae and Phil are exceptional property owners and people, we will be back for sure. Giving this property a 15/10!
This is one of the best properties I have stayed in. Communication with Mae was excellent. The information she sent us was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about the ease of communicating and the amenities of the property. So close to the beach and you can walk to everything you need. A very great experience.

Ideal for Couples
This was our first trip with just the two of us, our previous 3 trips to Placencia had been with Family or other couples. So we wanted something really nice, clean, near the beach and the Village. Alaska Reprieve was EVERYTHING we had hoped for! It was amazingly "modern " yet so cozy! Wonderfully appointed with everything we needed and the location was IDEAL! Strategically located at the north end of the Placencia boardwalk, nestled amongst beautiful flowering shrubs and trees with views of the ocean. Sitting on the porch in our big comfy chairs for morning coffee, watching the many birds flutter around was an amazing way to start each day! And we didn't have to rent a car or golf carts ....we could walk or use the bikes (included) to quickly get to the markets or restaurants....pier, etc. You are literally minutes from anything you need. But the best feature of Alaska Reprieve were the hosts Phil and Mae. Such amazing, interesting and kind people. We SO enjoyed our time getting to know them! We never felt like clients...but rather Friends. Although we had been to Placencia 3 times prior... they showed us so many things we had not experienced before and it was just fun to visit with them! (Phil is a regular Belizean "Cliff Clavin!) If you are tired of the salt water, the place comes with a weekly pass to the Placencia Beach Club which has good food, drinks and a nice pool. a great day to spend at the pool! We will definitely book this again! Best little spot north of the Village! Thanks Mae and Phil...we had a BLAST!
Beautiful Facility
Our hosts graciously picked us up and brought us to the beautiful and very new Alaska Reprieve rental. The apartment had 5 ceiling fans and a very quiet and cold AC unit. The place was fully furnished with very new appliances and everything else we could have asked for and the beach is just a few steps away. We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed a much-needed getaway over the Christmas holiday in Placencia. The Alaskan Reprieve was as described: safe, clean, and just a short walk to the beach. Being on the north end of the Placencia sidewalk resulted in a very quiet location, but close enough to walk to all the restaurants and coffee shop. No car is needed here. We used the bikes often. Having a working washer and dryer was great for our longer stay. The Belizeans are a lovely people, very friendly, helpful, and not intrusive. Overall, we had a very safe, beautiful, refreshing reprieve. Thank you!

Have you ever stayed at a property where you were disappointed when you got there? Not the case here. The pictures do not do the property justice. This is not a rental its a home. Very thoughtfully appointed. The location is fantastic. The Beach Club membership is priceless!!!
